Inspire Me

Sourced from FashionGoneRogue

This week was full of friends' gigs, jewelry making and peeling legs.
I really love this dress but it is modern made and quite badly so...the lining is too short and tight, and the pretty crochet top layer is kind of misshapen. But I'm one of those people who will wear something to death anyway.
I'm very excited about a couple of packages I have to pick up tomorrow! More on that later.
Hope you are all well!

Ride My Bike Until I Get Ho-ome

This is the hat and blouse I picked up op-shopping yesterday! I think they go nicely together. Also pictured is a miniature bike that I got ages ago but forgot to photograph, isn't it cute?! It has a little stand too, so you can put it anywhere. I love the little thing.
Hope everyone is well! It's nice to see some new followers too, thanks heaps guys <3

Day Trip with Laf

Today me and Laf took an (expensive) trip on the train out to Porirua. We went to a few shops, had a BLT from Denny's and then headed back into town and out to Petone on the train. That's right, Wellington doesn't connect any of their train lines to each other, they only stem from one place which wastes a lot of money and time. It's crazy! But I found a gorgeous 60s style dress (photos tomorrow) and this lovely floppy felt sunhat. Sorry for the strange photos, my photographer is still getting used to my camera heh.

Sunny Days + Dehydration

On Monday me and my friend Lydia hit the waterfront with some cider and my camera. While we were there, three guys came down with a mandolin, ukulele and violin and started playing and singing really beautiful folky kind of music. It was a very nice time until I got a migraine from never drinking water and had to walk home, in the heat, up a giant hill. But hey, I got some cool photos of a super tame shag/cormorant. Isn't he lovely?

Maxi for Protection

This is what I am wearing today. Due to getting one, just one leg (only the shin would you believe) quite burnt on Monday, I decided a smart person would cover up. Going on a picnic with my family today, should be quite fun but they are pretty crazy and loud and it all gets a bit much after a while!

P.S sorry for the vacant looks,  I use self timer and I'm never quite sure when it will take the photo hah.

I'm Snap Happy

A few photos from bowling on Friday

As you can see, I'm pretty obsessed with my new camera and its black and white grainy film art function...

Spot The Difference?

As you can probably tell by the vast improvement in photo quality, my new camera arrived a few days ago! The same day I got it I had a birthday party to go to which resulted in me snapping about 200 photos of my friends that night.
I got this dress from a couple of girls who were selling clothes in Cuba Mall. They were strewn all over the pavement and I made a beeline for this one. All I paid was $5!
Unfortunately, I think it may be a girls dress because when I do it up it almost chokes me at the neck, so I'll see if I can let it out a little.

Christmas In The South...

This is what my Christmas Day looked like...I stole these off my sisters Facebook so they are quite grainy but I like them because I don't see this goofy boy I call my brother very often

Teddy Bear Dress

This is what I call my Teddy Bear's so fluffy and soft and the black buttons just make it so bear-like. It's also incredibly comfortable to wear. No one asked for a photo of my tongue trick, but I was messing around with the camera so here's a photo, it looks like my lower lip is holding it but it is just suctioned onto itselfgross huh?

Beautiful Belated Christmas Presents

Art Deco style watch and (please don't berate me) elephant ivory pendant. I absolutely hate the idea of people killing animals for fashion, but this is a very old necklace (1920s ish) and hunting for ivory is now illegal. The fact is that I would love it even if it was made from plastic and I know I will treat it with care and respect as the deed is already done and it deserves to belong to someone who appreciates it fully on more than just an aesthetic level.

On a lighter note, the wonderful Dahl from the blog
has nominated me for a Stylish Blogger Award and first of all I would like to thank her and tell her how sweet that was and how much I appreciate her insightful and intelligent blog

Now I'm supposed to say seven things about myself so....

  1. I am left-handed
  2. I have a fully fledged phobia of moths
  3. I can fold my tongue in half and keep it there without holding it or anything (photo on request)
  4. I am obsessed with blackbirds and cats
  5. I sold my soul for a new Olympus PEN camera, and hate myself slightly for it
  6. I am happiest when I am singing to a song I love
  7. I have never left New Zealand, but desperately want to
My Nominations...
L’Arc En Ciel
  Velvet Bitchez

The recipient is supposed to link back to the givers blog, thank them, then write a post about the award, writing 7 things about themself and nominating their own favourite stylish bloggers.

Red, White & Blue

Gosh, it's been a while. I hope you guys all had a very nice Christmas and a great New Year celebration. I brought in the New Year at my favourite bar to an amazing covers band playing "Viva Las Vegas" by Elvis. Unfortunately, the only party popper I had was a dud so it was slightly anti-climactic.

I've also got crazy awesome news; I'm getting a new camera! It's one of the new Olympus PENs, the DSLRs that don't have a mirror so they are small but still take great photos, I'm very excited.
